Our vision

Camberwell Junction is the dynamic heart of a vibrant and diverse community and we want to increase the green space for the community to enjoy.

The State Government designated Camberwell Junction as a Principal Activity Centre (PAC) resulting in booming development and population growth.  The increased diversity and opportunities in one of Melbourne’s most thriving communities has created a need for more green space, where our community can gather, relax and enjoy all the wonders that nature brings.

Camberwell gets its name from a district of the same name in south London. At the crossroads at the centre of London’s Camberwell is Camberwell Green, an area of common land where for over 1,000 years the community of Camberwell in London have been able to meet and come together.

It’s time to open up the Crown Land located next to Civic centre to the residents of Boroondara – to make it the open community space that our forebears intended it to be.

By closing the centre section of Reserve Road and converting the car park back into parkland, Camberwell can have its own Camberwell Green.
